ASCII Fields (Jam Version)

Ascii Fields 1.0 has been released!

It was a lot of fun to work with text-only graphics. I wrote a converter to turn sprites into tiled, colored text images... and they're not that different from if I'd done it by hand but I felt kind of lost doing it in text directly so i think it was worth it.

Right now gameplay is pretty basic. You can but 2 kinds of seeds and grow them on your farm:

Radishes grow quick and give a decent profit but only yield once. Berry bushes are a longer term investment, but a single plant produces berries every few days at no extra expense so.. pick your style :)

If you want some hints/teasers about upcoming features, try talking to Susie, the owner of the seed shop.

And if you want even more spoilers about upcoming features... talk to her a lot. Like... a lot a lot.
